U16s praised

Last Sunday 11th November the Eccles RFC u16s achieved a terrific 17-34 away victory in the Lancashire cup at Fylde.  12-0 down at half time , a determined second-half fight back with tries from Tallis, Daniel, Brad, Jay, Riley, Joe and 2 conversions for Daniel earned them a place in the next round and plaudits from many spectators who saw their performance including a Fylde coach, Dave Whyman, who was kind enough to pass on his congratulations to the club.

“On Sunday Eccles under 16’s visited us at Fylde. You won – congratulations.
Your coach, Matthew, is a”star “and gave your team one of the fullest warm ups that I have seen at this level.  I do not know what was said at half time but your boys came back from a 12 point margin behind at half time to win 17-34.
Your manger awarded a player of the game tee shirt – on it’s back it said “ask me for a Guiness”, so I did. The young man in question was quick to respond “would I get served ?”- Very sharp!
Before the game we held a minute’s silence in commemoration of the 100 years since the end of WW1.
Your boys behaviour was a credit to your club.
Your coaching team and players were a credit to Eccles rugby club.”
