Colts ReUnion

This Easter Saturday, 20th April, Eccles RFC entertained touring team Ollerton RUFC (from Newark, Nottinghamshire) and welcomed back to the Gorton Street turf the infamous 2002 Colts team who reunited for the game. For the participating players and those interested in the history of colts rugby at Eccles a special edition match programme was produced (a few copies still available behind the bar, £2).

The weather was scorching, the Gorton Street Grandstand was packed, Eccles were on fire and won the game comfortably 107-12 (with occasional assistance from 2017 Colts Leon, Reece, Fin, Damola) and both teams and spectators lapped up the refreshments and post match entertainment provided by Dave Nicholls, Neil Madden and Co.

Judging by the social media conversation, the event was considered a great success and the club hopes all the players enjoyed the day and the former colts remain in touch and involved at Eccles.
